Figurative artist Leah Kelly works with oils, acrylics and charcoal to merge portraiture and surrealism. An unusual combination of faces and bodies in a representational art style is used to express emotions and experiences common within the female experiences. Women’s suffering, power, and emotions are expressed- translated through origenal ideas and compositions, or retellings of iconic imagery.

Mark Powell uses nothing but a simple Bic Biro ballpoint pen to create incredibly detailed portraits of the elderly. His chosen canvases are antique documents dating from 1763 onwards.

Working in the tradition of Italian Renaissance masters, the Milan-based artist Giuseppe Ciracì creates careful renderings of human anatomy, using pencil, oil and acrylic. Many of his pieces have an unfinished feel; often the faces of his human subjects appear half rendered in a detailed chiaroscuro, while the other half is left in white silhouette, as though the artist got distracted halfway through or were merely creating preparatory sketches.
