Moonstone Beach State Park, Cambria California

Quite possibly one of the loveliest and most unique beaches you can visit. Instead of sand, this shore is strewn with smooth pebbles (some of them moonstones, of course) and people claim its sunsets rival that of the Hawaiian Islands. Better still, it’s rarely crowded. Can’t beat that with a stick (or stone).

In search of fresh perspective, Sasha and I decided that a much needed trip along California’s Central coast was long over due.

Unpolished moonstone from Moonstone Beach, Cambria, California. Most of these rocks are not local; most travel from India and Sri Lanka. When polished they take on a silvery light in white, flash blue and rainbow.
