So hated, that they are usually killed on sight on farms and ranches; so hated that there are roundups in their name, where slaughtering masses of the snakes is deemed as 'fun for the whole family.' When you harass this animal you certainly get a response. If you leave it alone, nine times out of ten, you barely get a rattle.
