Phonk is a bold & wide sans-serif typeface best suitable for logotypes, packaging, posters, advertising and more.

From “Phil’s Photo: Homage to the Alphabet”, 1980. This specific style was designed by Friedrich Karl Sallwey in 1958 as an addition to the Information family. It is probably best known today from its use in Pablo Ferro’s title sequence for “Bullitt”. There is one digital version of this style (YWFT Matter), but none for the rest of the Information family.
