Adebola Adegboyega is an assistant professor in the College of Nursing, and a member of the Community Health Advocacy iNterventions Generating Equity (CHANGE) Team. Additionally, Dr. Adegboyega is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program at the UK Markey Cancer Center and member of the Translation on Research Interventions into Practice, Population, and Policy Leadership (TRIPPLe) Team Alliance.

Dr. Adegboyega received both a BSN and PhD in Nursing from the University of Kentucky. She completed a post-doctoral training in cancer control and prevention.  Dr. Adegboyega’s research focuses on health promotion, cancer screening and prevention, and reducing health disparities among underserved and minority populations. Her past works, published in peer-reviewed journals, have focused mainly on promoting breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screening among African American, Sub-Saharan African immigrants, and Appalachian Kentuckians.

Dr. Adegboyega’s career goal is to train the new generation of nurses, promote health and reduce health disparities experienced by underserved and minority populations. She hopes to contribute to improved health outcome for minority and underserved populations by promoting health protective behaviors such as cancer screening, HPV vaccination, healthy lifestyles, and physical activity
