Extreme macro of the cephalon of Pericalus funestus (Coleoptera, Carabidae) from Indonesia (West Sumatra, Mt. Banggul, 1250-1400m alt., ca. 35km N of Payakumbuh, Landal village, 13/03/2015; dried collection specimen). Studio work with a staged dead specimen. Focus stack, 197 images, assembled in Zerene Stacker (Dmap & Pmax). Sony A7Rm3 (apsc mode) + Canon MP-E 2.8/65mm at approx. 4x; ISO-100, f/5.0, 1/160, 1 diffused flash.
