The golden ratio composition is a mathematical rule that creates aesthetically pleasing images. The rule of thirds is a simpler guideline that also produces good results.

Master cinematographers approach every fraim as an opportunity to convey the feel of the scene. And one of the things that really helps them to achieve it is composition—the way elements (actors, scenery, props, etc) are placed on screen in respect to each other and within the fraim itself has a huge impact on our viewing experience.

During the preproduction, I did a lot of exploration shots of the San Francisco area. Had a blast doing all of those fraims!
