Lamvan is a fishing village on the north-eastern coast of a state called Hoang, a vast realm of tall mountains and lush jungles and, as Bessas would later learn, a tributary to the even greater Zhau Empire to the south. Lamvan sits at a cove between steep cliffs and overlooks a large bay.The village is governed by a Quanlai, an appointed civil official.
