The recorded book program is part of a project called “A Mother’s Voice,” which began earlier this year in South Carolina’s two female prisons. “When a parent is incarcerated,” said Corrections Department director Bryan Stirling, “the children pay for it. I want to keep a connection between the offender and the family. Mainly what I wanted to do was let the children know that their parent still cared for them.”

How a previously unpublished book by the children’s author Margaret Wise Brown is soon to make an appearance.

"Goodnight Moon" by Margaret Wise Brown Age ranges vary for this selection. Though appropriate for babies, this book is often read to toddlers or young children as well. A good story for bedtime.
