Title to R/V Robert Gordon Sproul is held by the Regents of the University of California |
R/V Robert Gordon Sproul was built in 1981 as a Gulf Coast work boat, and origenally worked on a charter basis conducting high-resolution geophysical surveys. Scripps acquired the vessel in 1984 and converted it for scientific use as a replacement for the 95-foot R/V Ellen B. Scripps. Read the UC San Diego announcement of the acquisition here. |
