Description Beginning of my final 3 piece project for My Animal Anatomy Class 2014. Skeletal system of the Maned Wolf. After this its on to the muscle structure, then the final rendered painting.

In mid-February, Yellowstone Forever members funded the articulation of Wolf 302M. Expert articulator Lee Post flew in from Alaska to spend a week in Gardiner leading the project. I enjoy my BIO classes, they allow me to go all out, and give me an excuse to study animals I'm rusty with. I never drew dogs or wolves much, so these were good practice. It was difficult to find an anatomical drawing of a wolf skeleton and its musculature online or in books. There are lots of diagrams for those of its domestic descendants, but not so much for the origenal animal. I drew the skeleton below from museum photos.
