How to Turn that Ugly Desk Chair into Purty :)

I had an ugly, cheap, bright pink desk chair. You know the kind - bought for 19.99 at Target or Staples. It was crying out for a makeover.

Wrap your fabric around the seat bottom, then trim the fabric back to where it overlaps the underneath side about 2 inches. You will fold the sides under to not have a raw edge. Use an electric stapler to attach the fabric, working back and forth across the seat. I.e., start in the middle of one side and staple in 3-4 places; then go to the opposite side, pull the fabric taut and up around to staple 3-4 places. Repeat. Trim corner fabric to reduce bulk, as shown.
Ugly but comfy chair. Ugly for TOO long - two years of covering it with throws or tying fabric on it. Time to fix it!
This is the finished product. Isn't that much better? The next images will show you how to be an amateur reupholsterer and DIY, too ;) Actually, this is almost finished - I still need to glue flat trim to the chair back to 'hide' the edge of the glued-on back fabric. I'll post that picture after I buy some flat trim and get it attached :)
FInished with the chair seat! Now for the back...
Seat back: lay the fabric over it, and cut it to be about 4 inches wider, all around, than the seat back.
The fabric was STAPLED to the underside of the chair seat; but GLUE works for the seat back. Apply LIBERALLY; it soaks into the fabric and creates great adhesion.
After waiting about 30 min. for the front to dry, flip the back over and begin folding the fabric under and pressing it down on to the trim, which has a liberal ribbon of glue on it. Again, glue on opposites sides - top, bottom, left, right, corners.
Close up of how the fabric applied to the BACK of the seat back is folded under then pressed onto the glue, for neatness. Lots of glue, remember!
The finished seat back! Almost. I will need to buy some flat trim and glue that over the 'seam' between the front and back of the seat back.
