- From the Scopus homepage, select the 'Discovery Researcher' tab.
- Enter your search terms in the Enter keywords field and select 'Search'.
Search terms can be anything relating to a research area, topic, or interest. - Refine your results using the Refine by menu. Refine by:
- Matching documents from a specific span of years
- Country
- Organization
- Select the 'Sort by' drop-down menu to choose your desired sort criteria.
- Select 'Preview profile' for the desired author to open the Author profile preview panel.
Note: Select the Number of matching documents to open the document search results page.

Last updated on August 15, 2024Researcher Discovery allows you to conduct a keyword search to quickly find researchers contributing to a specific field. The keywords are matched against title, abstract, and journal name of articles by the 16m+ authors in the Scopus database.
Using Researcher Discovery, you can easily and quickly find researchers and their current focus, total experience and time in research, details about their institution, recent published documents, topics, and contact information. This enables you to identify relevant author profiles to make connections, identify potential collaborators, pinpoint authors to approach for mentorship or advice, and to target individuals for network building.

- What can I do with the Author profile preview?
The Author profile preview panel allows to easily view researchers and their current focus, time in research, published documents, and topics. The panel includes details about their institution, years of experience, most contributed topics, most recent publications, and contact information. To view a full author profile, select View full profile.
- Why is Researcher Discovery limited to documents from the last 5 years?
Limiting documents from from the last 5 years to present helps to bring focus to authors who have published on a specific topic in recent years. Those authors are more likely to continue to be active in the topic.
- Are preprints included in Researcher Discovery?
No, preprints are not included. Researcher Discovery only matches keywords to published documents.
- What search syntax does Researcher Discovery support?
