Develop the knowledge and skills you need to launch your social work career. The online Bachelor of Arts in Social Work program at the University of Kentucky prepares you to pass clinical licensing exams with experienced faculty that provides the guidance to help you make an impact in your chosen field. You may transfer up to 67 credits from a two-year institution and complete the B.A. in Social Work in two years.

As a College of Social Work student, you’ll also receive exceptional academic support from our distinguished staff. All B.A. in Social Work academic advising is overseen by a licensed social worker, which lends a forward-looking career perspective to the educational process.

With over 1,000+ practicum sites, our field education allows students to find a setting in their community that aligns with their interests.

Our B.A. in Social Work curriculum is focused on social justice, strengths, and solutions. Students have the opportunity to personalize their educational journey through a series of upper-level electives designed to create depth of learning specific to the student’s area of interest. You also have the opportunity to complete an undergraduate certificate in Diversity and Inclusivity Awareness to gain an enriching, multidisciplinary academic experience through exposure to a variety of cultures and lived experiences.

The UK Core Courses are (a) recommended by the college, or (b) required courses that also fulfill UK Core areas. Students should work closely with their advisor to complete the UK Core requirements.
