Karen started working at UK in January of 2022. She is the Academic Administrator for the Department of Economics. Prior to UK, Karen worked at the Lexington Herald-Leader for more than 21 years and the Kentucky Council of Churches for nine years. She also owned and ran a construction business while attending BCTC and earning two Associate Degrees (Graphic Design/Web design). Karen is passionate about social justice and hopes to be a valuable asset to her department and the UK Community. She has three adult children - Tyler (28), Savanna (26) and Isaiah (19) as well as five fur babies - Onyx, Daisy, Kiki, Bloo and Michael.
