After working with NZ pet food disruptors Animals Like Us to develop their brand identity, we leapt at the chance to create a direct mail promotion alongside some paper folding wizards.The product had to feel fun and memorable and drive organic interaction and enthusiasm from both pets and owners. As passionate dog lovers ourselves, we knew the barriers posed when introducing new foods for fussy pets. Getting tails wagging and pet parents happy with a fun promotion was our challenge.

Aardvark is a new brand creation by B&B studio for young entrepreneur Hugo Walters, encompassing brand positioning, creative strategy, naming, brand design and packaging. A sustainable, vet approved insect-based pet food for cats and dogs, Aardvark will launch initially as a DTC brand, with a retail offer on the way.

The packaging was designed around the brand’s personality which is eco-focused, playful, and laid back. Each of the flavours is named like a menu item, which creates a fun way for customers to pair treats like “House Burger” with “Side of Fries”.
