Women’s Soccer Earns No. 5 Seed, Will Host NCAA First Round
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following their best season in a decade, Kentucky women’s soccer (11-4-4, 3-3-4) will host post-season soccer at the Bell Soccer Complex, the NCAA announced during today’s selection show. The Wildcats will welcome West Virginia (12-5-2, 8-2-1) to the Bell on Friday, November 15 at 7 p.m. ET in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Kentucky earned their second-ever NCAA Tournament national seed during today’s NCAA selection show taking the No. 5 seed, the first time the program has gotten the seeding in program history. The Wildcats are slotted to face the winner of the No. 2 Notre Dame – Milwaukee match, should they advance on Friday.
The Wildcats enter the postseason with an 11-4-4 overall record and a 3-3-4 Southeastern Conference record. It’s the best record in program history since 2014 and the best season under head coach Troy Fabiano, so far, since taking the job in 2022. The Wildcats’ appearance in the NCAA Tournament is its 12th in program history and first in a decade since the program hosted an opening round match in 2014.
