UK HR Work-Life to host free parent resource fair
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 15, 2024) – University of Kentucky Human Resources (HR) Work-Life is hosting a free parent resource fair for UK employees from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 4, in Ballroom C of the Gatton Student Center. Stop by and stay as long as your schedule allows.
“Parents and guardians are always looking for ways to educate, support and entertain their children,” said Azetta Beatty, HR Work-Life benefits manager. “Throughout a child’s life, they will need a variety of support and opportunities to grow and develop. We hope this in-person fair helps UK employees connect with a lot of helpful resources in one space. This year we have some special demonstrations and giveaways as well.”
UK HR Work-Life will be handing out free child ID kits, some ADHD and autism items and the first 50 attendees will receive a free UK T-shirt.
In addition, SafeKids will offer these hands-on demonstrations:
- Stop the Bleed – designed to help save a life in an emergency
- Car Seat Safety – learn how to properly install all types of car seats
At this fair, UK employees will have an opportunity to connect with child-friendly resources for school-age children regarding:
- Academic and mental health support
- After school programs
- Camps (fall, spring, summer, no school)
- Extracurricular activities
- Family support
All attendees are asked to register for the fair to make check-in quick and easy, visit the HR website.
