Light to moderate snow will continue into Saturday over the Great Lakes, Central Appalachians, and Northeast. This weekend into next week, a series of atmospheric rivers will bring gusty winds, periods of heavy rain, and mountain snow to northern California and the Pacific Northwest. Here is a storm timeline depicting our active weather through the holiday next week. Monday into Tuesday Evening will see moderate travel impacts from mountain snow and rain with several weaker waves before and after the aforementioned period of weather.
The second, warmer weekend system will arrive on Sunday with minor rain impacts and high snow levels around 7000-8500 feet.
A weather system will bring moderate to locally heavy precipitation Monday night into Tuesday, with the highest amounts expected across the northern Sacramento Valley, foothills and mountains. Expect ponding of water on roads and slick roads. Longer than normal commute. Isolated thunderstorms. Rises on creeks, rivers, and streams
Moderate travel impacts from moderate to heavy snow on Tuesday. Snow forecast of around 4 to 8 inches up to 12-18 inches south of Hwy. 50 above 6000 feet. Slick roads, chain controls, and travel delays possible
