Temperatures for the period averaged 63.8 degrees across the state which was 1.2 degrees warmer than normal
. High temperatures averaged from 75.9 in the West to 73.3
in the East. Departure from normal high temperatures ranged from 0.7 degrees warmer than normal in the West
to 0.3 degrees cooler than normal in the East. Low temperatures averaged from 66.3 degrees in the West
to 51.5 degrees in the East. Departure from normal low temperature ranged from 13.3 degrees warmer than normal
in the West to 2.1 degrees warmer than normal in the East. The extreme high temperature for the period
was 112.5 at Jackson county and the extreme low was 5.2 at Harlan county.
Precipitation (liq. equ.) for the period totaled 24.01 inches statewide which was 1.2 inches above normal
and 105.3% of normal. Precipitation totals by climate division, West 26.38 inches, Central 25.35 inches,
Bluegrass 21.20 inches and East 23.11 inches, which was 2.80, 1.62, -0.06 and 0.45 inches respectively from normal.
By station, precipitation totals ranged from a low of 17.15 inches at McCreary county to a high of 30.92
inches at Calloway county. Dewpoint temperatures for the state averaged near 54.6 degrees.
