Programs

The U.S. Attorney's Office promotes community-based crime and drug prevention programs throughout the district. The Office has adopted a number of strategies to combat the threat of gun and drug violence in our communities, including various partnerships with local law enforcement to aggressively enforce federal and state firearms and drug laws through Project Safe Neighborhoods and participation in the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Task Force.

In addition, through the leadership of the Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee (LECC) Coordinator, the district has worked with various communities to develop seven Weed and Seed sites. The goal of establishing these sites is to prevent, control, and reduce crime, drug abuse, and violent gang activity in targeted high-crime neighborhoods. Weed and Seed sites are currently located in Trenton, Atlantic City, Camden, Pleasantiville, Newark, Orange and Vineland.
