Use Our Online Services

We are limiting the number of customers in our buildings to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Check Online Services and Kiosks first to see if you can complete your transaction without coming to the DMV. Renew your vehicle registration online.

Expanded New Resident Hours   New!

The DMV is temporarily offering early-morning weekday hours for new residents to transfer an out-of-state license and get their Nevada driver's license/ID and vehicle registration. See New Residents.

Registration Decal Delay

The DMV is now mailing large batches of registration decals from online renewals. Please be patient if you have not received your decal. If you mailed your renewal, please be advised we are several weeks behind in processing. Check Your Registration Status Here.

Get an Extension

Nevadans who can’t renew before their driver license/ID expires should print the appropriate extension letter in case they need to present it to law enforcement. Your expiration date will not change.

Extension for Licenses/ID Cards through November 12

Extension for Senior Drivers 65 and Older

The previous extension on all DMV documents expired September 13. Vehicles must have a movement permit or full registration to be driven on public streets.

Make an Appointment (Metropolitan Areas)

Most transactions at DMV offices in Carson City, Henderson, Las Vegas and Reno require an appointment. Walk-in customers will be directed to online services, kiosks or scheduled for an appointment as appropriate.

Rural offices are walk-in based and serve customers from their local area only. See Locations for details.
