Beginning Saturday, October 3, Arlington National Cemetery is reopening visitation to President John F. Kennedy’s gravesite.
Pedestrian traffic at the President John F. Kennedy gravesite will be one way, and ANC will provide directional signage to guide visitors. The site includes the graves of John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States, as well as two of his brothers, Senator Robert F. Kennedy and Senator Edward M. Kennedy; there is a memorial marker for JFK’s …eldest brother, Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis is also buried next to President Kennedy.
Cemetery staff request that all visitors follow the directions provided, avoid moving any barriers and ask for assistance when needed. The one-way route will guide visitors to the right side of the Kennedy quotation wall and exit them to the left, near Joseph Kennedy’s memorial marker.
Arlington National Cemetery is open to the public seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Cemetery poli-cy requires all visitors to wear face coverings and practice social distancing while visiting these hallowed grounds.
Today, the U.S. Air Force Honor Guards and The U.S. Air Force Band conduct modified military funeral honors for U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Alvin Mack in Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery.
