Overview

Project Cost: $5,848,155

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Western Arizona Council of Governments and Mohave County, will begin a construction project this winter to provide roadway improvements on Northern Avenue between Stockton Hill and Castle Rock roads.

Project elements include: 

  • Pouring concrete sidewalks and driveways between Stockton Hill and Castle Rock roads.
  • Replacing pavement markings, installing a new traffic signal video detection camera and other related work.

What to expect during construction

  • Lane restrictions will be in place throughout construction. 

  • Construction activities will take place primarily during the daytime; some nighttime work may be necessary. 

  • The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.

  • Construction-related noise.

ADOT reminds drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, and slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment while roadway restrictions are in place.

Project Schedule 

Work is scheduled to begin this winter and be completed in spring 2025. More information on the project schedule will be posted prior to the work starting.

Schedule subject to change based on weather or other unforeseen factors.

Overview 

The Arizona Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are repairing the pavement on Interstate 10 between Scaddan Wash (milepost 24) and Plomosa (milepost 30), east of the town of Quartzsite. The work consists of removing the existing pavement surface and replacing it with new asphalt concrete and minor bridge rehabilitation. 

Project Elements 

  • Milling the existing pavement and replacing it with new pavement, which includes mainline travel lanes, shoulders, ramps, and crossroads 
  • Replacing guardrail 
  • Replacing cattle guards
  • Repairing a bridge deck and replacing a bridge barrier
  • Installing pipe liners and fencing
  • Replacing pavement markings, signage and lighting

Project Schedule 

The project began May 2024 and has an anticipated completion date of winter 2024. Schedules are subject to change because of weather and other unforeseen situations. 

What to Expect 

To minimize traffic impacts, paving is scheduled to occur from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekdays. Other related work will take place during the day. Drivers are asked to obey posted speed limits, traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel and equipment. ADOT will provide advance notice of restrictions and closures to email subscribers and on the project traffic alert web page.
