The CPC produces maps and time series for precipitation and surface temperatures for Africa, Asia, Europe, South and Central America, Mexico, Caribbean, Australia, and New Zealand.

  • Monitoring Weather and Climate - The CPC monitors weather and climate in real time with the aid of satellite animations, conventional raingauge observations and global analyses of the atmospheric state. Animations at diurnal, daily, intraseasonal, seasonal and annual time scales are highlighted. The CPC also collects time series of accumulated actual daily precipitation and accumulated normal precipitation. These are updated on a daily basis and can be viewed for 5 degree by 5 degree grid boxes over the Americas by clicking on the appropriate map for the intended time period.

  • Global Regional Climate Maps - For other geographical regions of the world, the CPC produces weekly maps of total precipitation and maximum and minimum temperatures as well as departures from normal. Monthly and three month maps show total precipitation and percent of normal plus average temperature and departures from normal.

  • GlobalPrecipitation Time Series - Observed precipitation time series showing observed versus actual for selected cities around the world for the last 30, 90 and 365 days.

  • Global Temperature Time Series - Observed temperature time series showing observed versus actual mean temperatures and daily maximum/minimum values for selected cities around the world for the last 30, 90 and 365 days.

  • Africa Maps and Data - The CPC established The African Desk to develop a partnership program with the African Meteorological and Climatic Services. The African Desk produces precipitation maps, and monthly wind and sea surface temperature maps; issues seasonal rainfall outlooks and assessments, and a 10-day weather summary that are used in the Famine Early Warning System (FEWS).
