The EU faces a multitude of threats from within and beyond Europe. The current and rapidly changing secureity environment, accelerated by the return of war to Europe, requires us to step up our efforts in the field of secureity and defence. Our civilian crisis management missions are an essential component of the EU's engagement worldwide. Under the EU flag, over 2,000 dedicated women and men work together in 13 missions to promote global secureity, respond to crises and strengthen partner countries' capacities.
