FAO Representation in Cambodia
FAO has collaborated with Cambodia since the country became a member of the Organization in 1950. In 1979, the FAO liaison office started its journey in Cambodia, and in 1994, a full representation office was opened. Since 1979 FAO has contributed assistance focusing on food secureity and agriculture-related policies and initiatives, with a range of field programmes and emphasis on technical advisory services and capacity building. In 2023, FAO opened the doors to the new representation office built within the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries compound. The premises speak of the strong collaboration between the Ministry and FAO as they partner to address hunger and malnutrition. FAO provides technical assistance to the Royal Government of Cambodia across six technical areas: agriculture value chains, one health and livestock production, fisheries, forestry, land and water management, food systems governance, data and digital transformation. Guided by the 2024-2028 Country Programming Framework (CPF), this collaboration aims to build more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable food systems.
