FAO and China’s oldest land and environmental research institute signed an agreement today to harness an innovative geographical and environmental traceability tool that will  link consumers and growers of special agricultural products (SAPs) to promote their unique qualities and cultural importance.

Representatives from more than 50 countries convened virtually for the 2023 Annual Meeting of the FAO OCOP initiative on 18 December 2023. The main objectives of the OCOP Annual Meeting were to review the key outputs and achievements of the OCOP implementation globally and identify the key priorities and next steps for the initiative.

The Green Agriculture Forum was held in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, China from 14 to 16 August 2023, Part I of International Capacity Building Workshop on Technology Transfer on Geographical Indications Environment & Sustainability for OCOP implementation in the Asia-Pacific Region, Co-organized by FAO & Institute of Geographical Sciences & Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Over 200 participants from all countries across the region of Asia and the Pacific gathered in Dhaka for the FAO Regional Launch and Workshop on the Implementation of the OCOP Country Projects.
