Aimee Keller, Ph.D.

Supervisory Research Fisheries Biologist

Background

Aimee Keller joined the FRAM Division's Survey Team in January 2004. Before joining NOAA Fisheries she was an associate marine research scientist with the Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island and adjunct faculty with Roger Williams University. She is particularly interested in the habitat requirements of juvenile fish and the trophic links between primary productivity, zooplankton and higher trophic levels. Most recently she specialized in the impact of global climate change on phytoplankton bloom dynamics and possible impacts of the changing climate on the trophic structure leading to fish. Aimee holds a Ph.D. in Oceanography from the Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island.

Current Research

Aimee's research includes various aspects of oceanography with emphasis on ichthyoplankton, eutrophication and ecosystem analysis. Her current research will focus on improved understanding of factors controlling the abundance of groundfish species.
