WHAT DOES THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON FOUNDATION FUND?

The Lighthouse Beacon Foundation is dedicated to helping students succeed by improving their quality of life and reducing barriers to opportunity through education, advocacy, and collaboration.

The Foundation values innovation and collaboration in our communities.

We support non-profit organizations qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and selected public sector activities that:

  • Create high-quality and challenging engineering educational experiences.

  • Develop innovative solutions and programs that advance the sustainable growth of STEM education in Eastern Kentucky.

  • Cultivate an intentional programming pipeline so more students are introduced to the availability and opportunity to pursue their academic goals.

Please contact our team to see if the Foundation is currently accepting unsolicited grant applications and for eligibility requirements.

Priority on Eastern Kentucky
Poverty has been an ongoing issue in the Appalachian region and is primarily due to its legacy of limited economic opportunities and structural inequalities. Due to its mountainous area with rugged terrain, it is hard for locals to access essential services like healthcare and education. Appalachia still lags behind the rest of the nation on a number of socioeconomic indicators despite significant improvements made in poverty, per capita income, and high school graduation rates.

TLBF supports the intentional and sustainable growth of STEM education in Eastern Kentucky.
