Get ClimateReady - Met Office
A view of the earth from space

Get ClimateReady

The science is clear, the climate is changing. In the UK and around the globe we are already seeing changes to weather patterns and average temperatures as a result of human-induced (anthropogenic) climate change. The build up of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) in our atmosphere causes global temperatures to rise resulting in long-term changes to our planet’s climate.

We know that, even if all emissions stopped today, we cannot avoid further impacts like rising sea levels. The severity of those impacts depends on the emissions we put out from now onwards.

We all need information to help tackle the many challenges of climate change. The pages below provide advice from a range of organisations on what you could do to combat the changes to the climate we are already experiencing or which will occur.

By making changes in our lives, we can all play a part in protecting our planet from the worst impacts of climate change and adapting our lives to protect ourselves from the impacts we will see.

Let’s get ready for tomorrow. #GetClimateReady
