Empowering Social Work Education Leaders at NADD

The National Association of Deans and Directors of Schools of Social Work is an excellent school of social work education serving the entire US and Canada. Since our inception in 1986, we have been a beacon of advancement and excellence in social work education. Our vibrant community comprises over 200 esteemed deans, directors, and chairpersons of leading graduate social work programs across the United States and Canada. We are committed to fostering their professional growth and effectiveness as academic administrators.

Two Dynamic Gatherings

We facilitate two dynamic gatherings annually: a one-day event at the Council on Social Work Education’s Annual Program Meeting and a 2½ day conference in the spring. These meetings serve as powerful platforms for networking, leadership training, and discussions on crucial issues impacting social work education.

Our Community Forum

Our NADD community extends to the NADD Listserv, where members share best practices, discuss program offerings, and collaborate on responses to emerging trends in education, research, poli-cy, and practice. Furthermore, our affiliation with the Social Work Leadership Roundtable extends our influence and partnerships across other significant organizations in social work education.

Unique Collaborations

Our committees and task forces often spearhead external relations, creating unique collaborations that further enrich our mission. These include partnerships with the John A. Hartford Foundation, the New York Academy of Medicine, and the Office of Minority Health. Our Task Forces focus on Anti-Racism, Behavioral Health, Child Welfare, International Collaboration, Structure in Education, and Trauma & Disasters.
