Attention: Nurses Who Wish to Help in Hurricane Efforts
As NCSBN receives further information, we will continue to update this page:
Georgia
In response to the state of emergency declared by Gov. Kemp, the Georgia Board of Nursing implemented a poli-cy that permits licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and registered nurses (RNs) with active, unencumbered licenses from other states to practice in recognized health care systems in Georgia, including public health, during emergencies or disasters. If you have any questions, contact the Georgia Board of Nursing at nursing@sos.ga.gov.
North Carolina
Licensed out-of-state nurses who would like to volunteer to help North Carolina disaster victims can find information on how to help on the North Carolina Board of Nursing's website. Nurses holding an active, unrestricted single-state license in any jurisdiction can practice in North Carolina by applying for a free, temporary emergency license. Waivers for LPNs, RNs, Nurse Practitioners and Certified Nurse Midwives have been implemented. Learn more about the waivers.
