NOAA Fisheries envisions healthy ecosystems, communities, and economies on the West Coast that are resilient in the face of change. To support this vision, the West Coast Region’s education and outreach team develops hands-on lesson plans, citizen science programs, and outreach events. They are all based on NOAA Fisheries’ cutting-edge research that are designed to bolster literacy in ocean, coastal, and climate sciences.
We aim to provide timely, science-based content to educators that inspires students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and other disciplines critical to stewardship.

Outreach
Science in Studio
The Science in the Studio Award aims to use art to demonstrate how our cumulative actions affect the health of marine and freshwater resources and actions people can take to protect them.
Take Action
There are many little things we can do at home, school, and work to improve our community, the environment, and the waterways on which marine species depend.
Volunteering and Citizen Science
By volunteering and conducting citizen science, you can preserve critical habitat, help scientists gather valuable data, and work towards a more sustainable future.
