The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) NRL Postdoctoral program provides postdoctoral scientist and engineers the opportunity to pursue research on problems, largely of their own choice, that are compatible with the interests of the sponsoring laboratories, and to contribute to the overall effort of NRL. This program provides an opportunity for concentrated research in association with selected members of the permanent NRL staff, often as a climax to formal career preparation.
Associateships in this program are awarded to persons who have held a doctorate less than five years at the time of application and are made initially for one year. At the discretion of NRL, 2nd and 3rd year appointments may be arranged, if warranted.
The annual stipend levels for Post-Docs are as follows, depending on location:
· NRL DC: $99,200
· NRL South, Stennis Space Center, MS: $86,962
· NRL Monterey, CA: $108,245
Travel and relocation expenses are paid, with limited funds available for professional travel if approved by NRL.
Applications will be accepted at any time and must be submitted through the ASEE website. Applicants MUST be US Citizens or US Permanent Residents at the time of application.
