A set of characters I designed for Artstation's Feudal Japan: The Shogunate Character design challenge. Challengers were assigned to design a set of 8 characters (Shogun, Samurai, Ninja, Daimyo, Emperor, Geisha, Peasant and Yokai). For this project I took a realistic approach trying to use accurate clothing, tools, weapons and color palettes. Here is some character work I've done last year and finally decided to share it. Had a lot of fun creating this guy! Went with the armour set from "The Last Samurai". Sculpted in Zbrush, retopo work done in Blender, Marvelous Designer work for the cloth part, textured in Substance Painter and finally rendered in Maya. Hope you guys like!
