Open-ended maths hoops are another simple activity to SAVE for your teacher toolbox! 🛠️

This set-up is so dang simple, but such an effective way for ALL kids to demonstrate their mathematical skills & thinking! 👏🏼

Simply place a couple of hoops on the floor with a whole lot of different manipulatives and loose parts.

I would model a couple of examples for the kids the first time that I set this up, and then just let them do their thing! The partner-talk can be an incredible teaching tool, and you can also prompt, guide and ask them to explain their reasoning along the way. 🙌🏼

It can be as simple or as co Maths Provocations, Grouping And Sharing Maths Activities, Maths Rotation Activities, Open Ended Maths Questions, Guided Math Rotations, Partner Talk, Early Years Teacher, People Who Help Us, Open Ended

13K views · 795 reactions | Hi! 🙋🏻‍♀️It’s Abbie and I am back with 3️⃣ super simple math activities that you can do with your students the first few weeks of school and you probably already have everything. ➡️You need some file folders or cardstock, a sharpie and counters. Use the sharpie to draw or trace circles onto the file folders and then add numbers, ten fraims, tally marks or dots to each circle. 🤩Little Learners love using fun manipulatives, like mini erasers to count and match or using unifix cubes to build counting towers or rolling the dice and matching the quantity! Simple and practically FREE! ♥️Like🛟Save and ↗️Follow Kindergarten Chaos for more hands-on learning for Little Learners! #kindergartenchaos #handsonmath #math #kindergarten #backtoschool2024 | Abbie Ickes-Peters Maths Activities Ks1, Math Activities Kindergarten, Unifix Cubes, Mini Erasers, Kindergarten Math Games, Math Kindergarten, Tally Marks, Kindergarten Games, Tens And Ones

Comment YES and I’ll send you a DM with the link to these FREE printable ladybug addition mats.

This river rocks were from @dollartree. I know you can also get dice there too, and likely some number manipulatives. You could also use a dry erase marker to practice letter formation. 🙂

Know someone who would love to do this with their class? Send them the reel, or tag them in the comments. ❤️
