California-based Studio Bergtraun has completed a holiday home in Tahoe, nestling a simple black volume clad in corrugated metal into the steep landscape.

Concrete was a necessity on the very steep, geotechnically challenging site, so we chose to embrace it.

This glazed house built from thick concrete slabs was designed Gian Salis to follow the slope of a plant-covered hill in Germany's Rhine Valley.
