A simple modern secretary desk like this, either in the office or in a front room somewhere, would be nice to have for localizing mail/important documents outside file cabinet/cards and correspondence. If in office, files could be underneath it. If in front room, would make great launchpad, especially if it has an under-shelf, could stick some carpet on that for shoes or something (or keep backpacks under it).
