Lori Wilson has dedicated her career to serving others. Lori joined the American Red Cross in 2014, where she first served as the Executive Director for the Alaska Region before transitioning to Fresno to lead the Central Valley Chapter as Executive Director in 2019. She has stepped into the role of interim Chief Executive Officer for the Central California Region, bringing a wealth of Red Cross leadership experience.
She serves as the Co-Chair of the Learning and Development Committee of the Women’s Resource Group Steering Committee. She is the co-lead for a National Workgroup focused on American Indian/Alaska Native engagement and championing equitable service for our First Peoples. Using her extensive disaster deployment experience, she also leads the Divisional Elected Official Liaison (EOL) Coordinators as a co-coordinator for the Pacific Division.
She has also served multiple interim leadership stints, most recently as the Interim Executive Director for the Kern County and Eastern Sierra Chapter and the Interim Regional Service to Armed Forces/International Service Manager.
Before she began her Red Cross journey, she served as the Development Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Alaska. She volunteered her time in a variety of programs, serving as the President of the Down Syndrome Society for Interior Alaska; as an Ambassador for Special Olympics; and as advocate with Key Coalition, advocating for the rights of persons experiencing disabilities in Alaska.
Since moving to the Central Valley, she has volunteered as a Parent/Coach for Special Olympics Northern California, been a Student Mentor for the VA Student Leadership Program, and acted as a mentor for Fresno State Students. She is currently on the Boards for the Federal Emergency Food and Shelter Program for Tulare, Kings and Fresno Counties.
Lori earned her degree in business marketing from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and is the mom of two beautiful daughters -- they are undoubtedly her proudest accomplishments!
