Every day, ordinary people make extraordinary contributions by putting their needs aside to help others in our community. The American Red Cross is honored to salute these unsung heroes. A hero might be a lifeguard who saved a drowning child, an ordinary citizen who performed CPR when a stranger collapsed at a shopping mall, or someone who dedicated their lives to serving others.
During the Heroes events, the honorees will be recognized for their impact on the community.
This powerful event brings together community members to honor ordinary people who do extraordinary things; those who have gone above and beyond in service to others. Additionally, the event helps raise money to ensure the Red Cross can offer help and hope to Iowa during emergencies.
Heroes are recognized at Red Cross Heroes breakfasts throughout the year. By showing your support through sponsoring your local Heroes event you are not only honoring Heroes, but you are helping support the services of the Red Cross in your community.
