Disaster Action Team: Be on-call to provide shelter, food, comfort and hope to families in your area displaced by house fires and other disasters.

Disaster Duty Officer: Ensures timely activation and monitoring of local and regional Disaster Action Team (DAT) responses.

Mass Care: Fills one of the many service, functional or administrative roles needed during a relief operation for large populations.

Blood Drive Volunteers: Ensure a safe and stable blood supply by welcoming and assisting donors at local blood drives. 

Blood Transportation:Use a Red Cross vehicle to transport lifesaving blood products to area hospitals. *Note: Positions available in Albany and Syracuse

Volunteer Screener: Screeners use their understanding of the volunteer and match it with the needs of the organization, connecting volunteers with positions for which they are both interested and well suited.

Recruitment Volunteer: Help recruit new volunteers for general and specific volunteer opportunities. Assist in researching outreach events, fairs, and community groups to set up recruitment presentations and community engagement events. 

Event Volunteer: Support members of the military, veterans, and military families through a wide variety of local programs and events. 

Content Creation Team Member: Tell the Red Cross story to media and the general public.

Event Volunteer: Help with special events and campaigns to raise the funds that make it possible to deliver critical services.

Fundraising Administrative Volunteer: Help fulfill fundraising needs and provide support for annual fundraising events; chapter stewardship efforts such as mailings, thank you calls to donors; conduct thank you calls/notes to donors; office assistance; donor database maintenance.

Fleet Volunteer: Help coordinate the scheduling, utilization, maintenance, and documentation, of American Red Cross vehicles to ensure the organization has a fully operational and deployable fleet.

Administrative Support: Provide support at a local chapter office – ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly by working on projects, welcoming guests, and answering phones.
