Biro, Niacaris and Kuiper cited the New Testament verse Romans 8:38, which says in part: "I am convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love … nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."

As one of the characters tells us: “A clever girl is the most wonderful thing in all Creation.”

Gray also includes in this category thinkers who were clearly devout, such as Spinoza, who rejected a creator God but saw God as an eternal substance in all creation, and the Russian philosopher Lev Shestov, who wrote that reason had to be overcome in order for us to know God, and that revelation “carries us beyond the limits of all human comprehension and of the possibilities that comprehension admits.”

In the resolution, the church cited a Bible verse from Romans: “Nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
