"All the lads can be proud of themselves," Tonks told BBC Radio 5 Live in an interview alongside his family.

“And I am excited about the opportunity for our team to go compete, and people can be proud to have a team that represents a lot of things that are right about sports.”

"It's something we should be proud of and championing in the UK, not sweeping under the rug," he said in an Instagram post.

"I'm really proud of the way my colleagues have responded to the pressure...but nobody wants to see delays in the ambulances going out and the delays in patients getting to beds that they need. No one will be proud of that system which is occurring."
