“Life on Earth is kind of a playthrough of painfulness, pointlessness, beauty and a deep trove of meanings that we have to find somehow,” he says.

“Under occupation, I felt the utter pointlessness of my existence. I could neither help anyone else, nor defend myself. I wanted to learn how to use weapons, so I could be some use.”

Being entirely confident in my friends’ abilities to succeed revealed the pointlessness of hesitating to be confident in my own.

The most difficult think I face being a "climate doomer", is recognising the shear pointlessness of everything that isn't focused on mitigation or limitation.
