...Lake effect snow will be winding down this afternoon...

Winter Storm Warnings are active for western New York along the
northern shores of Lake Ontario.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for portions of the
western Adirondacks.

At 900 AM EST...National Weather Service Doppler Radar showed no
precipitation over Lake Erie and the adjacent shores of
southwestern New York and Pennsylvania. Going north in western New
York, there is lighter snow falling, and a heavier snow band is
streaming across Lake Ontario south of Watertown. This band is
being enhanced by a synoptic cold front moving through the area.
Snowfall is ongoing across the northern Great Lakes, which is also
associated with a frontal system moving through the area.

Lake effect snow will be winding down today as warm air advects
into the Great Lakes ahead of a clipper front moving into the
area. While classic lake event snow will be winding down, most of
the Great Lakes will hold onto chances for snow through the
weekend with the passage of a front.

This will be the last Storm Summary issued by the Weather
Prediction Center for this event. Please refer to your local
National Weather service office for additional information.
