I personally use this technique as I believe it’s the fastest way to stitch up a name. But try out both, play around with spacing, and see which one you prefer! I try to keep my stitches about 1/8”-1/4” apart that’s around 1 centimeter. I find that’s the best for a weight 4 yarn like I have above. But each type of spacing provides a different look! The Sulky Stick and Stitch you see here is not required, I use it when doing fine line work like names to keep myself even. But feel free to embroider directly onto the sweater.
