Danielle Herrig
Lecturer

I am a geneticist broadly interested in how a single species diverges to become separate species and how populations respond to environmental changes. My dissertation work focused on gene flow between species while my postdoctoral work focused more on gene expression at different life stages and how it may influence the process of speciation.

I am a currently a lecturer in the Department of Biology at the University of Kentucky. I am excited to be working with students as they are introduced to biological concepts in BIO148 (Introduction to Biology), especially as they explore Evolution and the Central Dogma. I will also be working with students in Genetics Labs as they further delve into concepts in genetics.
