Español: Cottonopolis es el apodo dado a la ciudad de Mánchester, en Inglaterra, el que denota o señala a una metrópoli de fábricas de algodón y de tejedurías algodoneras, inspirada en el aspecto de Mánchester como centro internacional de las industrias de procesamiento del algodón y de los textiles (fines del siglo XVIII a mediados del siglo XIX).
