Scripps Community Conversations
Over the few past months, many members of our Scripps Community have been affected by events on campus, locally and nationally that have highlighted our nation's struggles with anti-black violence, police brutality, and structural and institutional racism and inequality. In particular, Black members of the Scripps Community have been deeply impacted by these events and recently met with our director, Margaret Leinen to share their thoughts, concerns, and provide input on how we as an institution can move forward to ensure that Scripps is a campus that is welcoming and supportive for all.
Below are additional opportunities for us, as a community, to come together, share our thoughts, and discuss constructive ways to address structural racism and inequality within our Institution.

2:30 – 4:00 pm

You are invited to join a conversation facilitated by Dr. Shaun Travers, Campus Diversity Officer & Director of the LGBT Resource Center, about systemic racism, Black lives, anti-Black racism and our own actions as individuals, leaders and as an Institution.

You are also invited to read the Demand Letter from the Black Student Union to get a better and broader understanding of these issues as they relate to UC San Diego as a campus. You can read the full letter here .

VCEDI has also created a new webpage with " Anti-Racism Resources " for additional information and support , and the Library has extensive resource available at https://ucsd.libguides.com/antiracism .
